Federation Council

The Federation Council meet regularly to discuss topical matters, plan fund-raising events and take a democratic approach to decision making. Whether managing Sports Relief, Children in Need, or planning the house team reward events, the Council always have plenty to contribute.

A Cultural Awareness Team (CAT) also meet regularly to consider issues of diversity, cultural heritage and inclusion within the Federation Community. Specific badges identify these pupils amongst their peers and they also act as a pupil support group.

New this year are our Federation Diplomats. These children are specially selected to support other pupils at breaktimes and lunchtimes. The Diplomat hats are earned through repeatedly demonstrating the personal qualities necessary to support and nurture other children.

Federation Ambassadors are our front of house team. They meet and greet visitors, support the leadership team in event organisation, and conduct themselves as beacons of exemplary behaviour and attitude. It is considered to be the highest distinctionand merit to hold this role. Ambassadors have earned the right to wear their own lanyard to signal their achievement and often take leading roles such as presenting an assembly alongside the Executive Headteacher.

The Huddle team meet half termly as a council to feed in to the In Harmony project. This council is managed by In Harmony/ Opera North staff and gives pupils the opportunity to contribute to the operational running of the music project.
